TURKMENISTAN TOUR PACKAGE ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Ashgabat with morning flight. Pick up at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Check in time: 12:00
Today we will have a sightseeing tour of Ashgabat including visits to Park and Monument of Independence, Arch of Neutrality, a 95m- high monument with a revolving golden statue of the first President Turkmenbashy. Visit “Alem” the largest Indoor Ferris wheel, “Bagt Koshgi” the Wedding Palace and the Memorial Complex "Halk Hakydasy". Continue tour to the historical and archaeological site “Ancient Nisa – the Residence of Parthian Kingdom” UNESCO site from 2007. Then visiting of Turkmenbashi Mosque and Mausoleum, one of the biggest mosques in Central Asia.

Day 2: Ashgabat - Anau – Mary – Merv (385 km.)
Morning drive to Mary. Visit on the route Anau pilgrimage place (remains of Seyitjemaletdin mosque XV c). Arrive in Mary & check in hotel. After lunch sightseeing to Ancient Merv known as Mary ShahuJahan-King of the World for about 300 years became the biggest city in Asia, inscribed into the monuments list of World Heritage Book, protected by the UNESCO. Visiting of Gyz Gala &Oglan Gala (6-7th cc.), Complex of Askhabs (8-14th cc.), Giaur Gala (4th c. BC), Buddist Complex (4-6th cc.), Erk Gala (6th c. BC), Soltan Gala (11th c.), Soltan Sanjar Mausoleum (12th c.), IbnZeid Mausoleum (12th c.). Overnight at Margush 3* hotel.

Day 3: Mary – Ashgabat – Darvaza
Drive to Darvaza – old gas recovery field in Central Karakum Desert. En route stopover to visit Erbent Nomadic village where you can enjoy seeing the local life in the desert - Turkmen yurts, dromedaries, tamdyr (mud oven) and many others. Arrive at Darvaza, explore the gas craters, first full of water, and second the sulfur - muddy. Leave the road and venture in the desert to see the flaming gas crater. Arrive and explore the flaming gas crater at sunset. Overnight in yurt at campsite.

Day 4: Darvaza – Koneurgench (270 km) – departure to Khiva (Uzbekistan)
In the morning drive to Koneurgench - the capital of Khorezmshahs (3-16th cc.) inscribed into the World Heritage Book of UNESCO.Koneurgench (known as Gurganch in the past) is the largest historical and archaeological park in the north of Turkmenistan. It is a large reserve with numerous ruins and monuments on the territory of modern Kunyaurgench. Such great Muslim scholars as al-Biruni, al-Khorezmi and Avicenna once worked here.
Sightseeing of the old city: Portal of Caravansaray (11-14th cc.), Il Arslan Mausoleum (12th c.), Mausoleum of Khorezm shahSultan Tekesh (13th c.), Academy of Horezm (3-13th cc.), Mausoleum of TurabekHanum, Minaret of KutlugTimur (14th c.) - one of the tallest minarets in Central Asia, Najmeddin Kubra (13th c.) and Soltan Ali (15th c.) Mausoleums.
After sightseeing drive to the border at Dashoguz for departure to Khiva, Uzbekistan. Arrival at the border crossing before 5 p.m. Farewell. End of program.

Day Tour To Darvaza

Darvaza is one of the places that should be on the must-visit list of every serious explorer who likes to visit Earth’s most breath-taking sites. Darvaza is a gas crater the burning gates of which have been flaming for upwards of 37 years. The settlement of Darvaza (Derweze in Turkmen) is located in the Central part of the Kara-Kum desert some 260 km from Ashgabat to the north. On the way to Darvaza lies the Kara-Kum desert, withs its moving sands and its typical sparse vegetation of Saksaul, Acacia and Kandym bushes. The locals from Darvaza have given the burning crater a name that suits it well – The Door to Hell. And everyone who visits Darvaza agrees with the name and finds it appropriate. When you look inside the burning gas crater, you do feel like this is what the door to hell would look like. Seeing the door to hell with your own eyes, however is an experience like no other. You will have long stayed in awe after experiencing the viciousness of the fire within the gorge of the burning crater. The Door to Hell would be an amazing vacation experience for the adventurous wonderers.

Excursion To The Underground Lake Kow-ata

The Bakharden underground lake is a natural sight in “Kov-Ata” Cave on the northern slope of the Kopetdag. The water in the lake is very famous for its curative characteristics. The lake is located at a depth of 52 meters from the entrance on a vertical line; it has an area of 2,700 square meters and is up to 13 meters deep. It is 72 meters long and about 30 meters wide. The surface of the lake lies 60 meters beneath the surface of the earth. Its warm, running water is clear and emerald-colored. Even in artificial lighting tiny stones at the bottom can be seen. The water has constant temperature between 35-37C. Analysis has shown that it contains a complex combination of chemical elements. Thirty different elements have been found, to date. Their unusual combination and the high temperature suggest that the water have biological activity. A dip in the water refreshes the bather instantly. It would be hard to resist taking a dip, whether in Summer or winter. People come in large number to take bath and for this purpose changing booths and steps leading down into the lake have been built on the shore.

“ANCIENT MERV – THE ABODE OF KINGS”, 5 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS

Tour to the excavations of Margiana (ancient country was Margush) will carry you to the 29th century B.C. Margush – is the ancient country, as it was proved as a new hearth of civilization. Tour itinerary includes visiting of Ancient Nisa – residence of Parthian Kingdom (III century B.C.), ancient city Abiverd (14th century), ensemble of “Seyitjemaletdin” mosque (15th century “Beauty house”) famous with it’s original portal, unusual for Turkmen – two interlaced snakes, “Maru-Shahujahan” (“Abode of Kings”), ancient Merv (Margiana Alexandrine 1st century BC – 18th). In ancient Merv presented various architectural monuments: Castle of Large and Small Gyz-kala (6-8th century), Mausoleum of Gyz-bibi (9-10th century), Mausoleum of Ibn-Zeid (12th century), Ensemble of Askhab’s tomb (15th century), Mosque of Yusuf Hamedani (16th century), Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar (12th century), Ancient settlement Erk-gala (5th cent.) with magnificent temple of Zoroastrism, as in legends where located “Gates into Paradise”.
